The trend of the music industry in Uganda is as divided as salt and sugar. We have artistes who can break the law and go away with it and others, even a slight mistake ends you in the coolers.
When they visit the local hung outs, they make sure that even the bar toilet cleaner recognises their presence. Below are the untouchables :
Iryn Namubiru - WOW! Arguably Uganda's best performer on stage but how does she do it? Well if you want to find out, do not miss her shows as she will treat you to some of the most erotic dances ever.
Recently she gave our very own VP Mahogany scrotal eruptions with her wet kisses which mesmerised him. We believe that her association with the top guns makes her ply her trade in music without fearing the likes of Nsaba Buturo.
Sheeba - She has done it all. Need we say anything from what we have seen in the tabloids of recent? Well, for all our readers who may not know who she is , Sheebah os one of the former Obsessions girls who has established herself in the music industry, she has established nude dancers (Kimansulo) and since Nsaba Buturo, the Minister of Ethics had banned it in all the pubs and bars, Sheeba nad group go on doing it in different hangouts in the city and the outskirts.
Does the law affect her? May be not.
Bobi Wine - Well known for his popular music and entertainment, has had so many controversies surrounding his life inside and outside his music. From members leaving the group to beefing with fellow artistes and most notably punching up Bebe Cool some time back in a music show organized at Nakivubo.
He goes on to confess on how he bribes police men to release him after committing crimes in his Mr. Money song.
Chameleone - The self proclaimed doctor has almost biffed up with everyone including his own father. What the Hell! Chameleone has fought in pubs, bars and several hangouts beating up on everybody who annoys him without forgetting his own brother, Weasel recently, snoops landed on him trying to hit Mowzey Radio.
Truth of the matter is that the skinny musician always goes away with it without being punished. We don;t know whether his behaviour is acceptable by our law or the law is soft on him.
Bebe Cool - The self proclaimed "Big Size" had the toughest year 2010. From crying out for Zuena, fights with Bobi Wine, Shootings and many calamities which caused problems to his life to Zuena's nude pictures in the tabloid.
Well like Chammeleone and Bobi, Big Size is also known for cat fights with fellow artistes and sometimes fans that he says provoke him. The big fish in the police will never come for him and if they do, it is only for a few questions and the dude is free.
Recently he has been so close to Sevo over the shootings at the Centenary Park. The big man went on to foot his hospital bills in Uganda and the USA where he had the operations. Do we need to say anything more about his size.
Ragga Dee - He calls himself "JJAJJA Wa Music" in Uganda. Ragga Dee is one of the most respected musicians today and this of course goes hand in hand with his works. Despite the fact that he hardly involves himself in cat fights with other musicians or fans, Ragga is also untouchable of sorts amongst the musicians.
When it comes to hanging out, the dude normally moves with a fleet of guys especially in popular hangouts and makes sure that everyone around notices his presence. Talk of being jjajja and recognition.

Uganda's Music Industry is fast growing with many artistes coming on board everyday. Artistes are known to be spendthrifts catapulted to fame through their superstar lifestyles. The big artistes like Jose Chamelone, Bobi Wine, Bebe Cool, Juliana Kanyomozi and Iryn Namubiru who strengthened the music Industry have minted the dime to live the dream.
Despite the influx of new talent, these chaps still earn big to maintain the status quo. The new kids on the block are also doing well financially. The old and new artistes are all minting dime from live performances at concerts, unplugging sessions in various bars and clubs, signing long term contracts with corporate companies and performing at social gatherings.
All their earnings are tax free. OMG team unveils how artistes are accumulating dime to build houses, drive posh cars, guzzle the bitter and shaft hot things.
Juliana Kanyomozi - She's an early bird. She does not have many new songs to her name but but Juliana is a brand. The sexy voiced singer charges Shs3m for upcountry shows. For city shows, book her slot if you can afford Shs2m. She also mints dime from performing at corporate and social events.
Ragga Dee - This veteran singer and probably the richest musician cannot perform at the show for less than Shs2m. He earns mainly through jingles from companies like NBL.
Goodlyfe - Moze Radio and Weasel TV are steadily making their weight known on the music scene. They have organised many album launches which they sell to Kibo Enterprises in advance. For example, they sold 'Ngenda Mumaso' launch at Shs39m. They also ask for Shs 4m for shows.
Grace Nakimera - She is fairly new in the industry but she undoubtedly billed as one of the most expensive artistes. Grace will not perform at your function unless you fork out Shs 3m. She prefers to perform at corporate events I guess because she she hates the hassle of showbiz promoters. Grace also earns big from album ..sorry...song launches.
Mariam Ndagire - She's a selective performer and charges Shs2m. However, exceptions are made for functions of frinds and relatives who she charges paltry 800k. She also makes loads of dime through play and script writing, lecturing and acting.
Desire Luzinda - Although her music is not known by many, curvy Luzinda's charges are high. She asks for Shs 3m. She performs mostly at private functions and house parties for the wealthy.

Either she forced him to or Ragga Dee has learnt a lesson from the likes of Jose Chameleone, Bebe Cool and Bobi Wine. Finally, the self claimed grand father of Uganda Music Dan Kazibwe aka Ragga Dee outed his wife.
They partied pakalast in Guvnor on Friday. The sexy Mariam Mbabazi seemed to have enjoyed every bit of their outing. Ragga Dee who previously rarely moved with his wife Mbabazi seems to have returned to her marital home after we reported in our pages that she had left for Kigali late last year.
She looked excited as she joined her hubby and Capt Mike Mukula on the dance floor. They left together at around 5am. Ragga Dee was clad in a military outfit with a Ugandan flag while Mbabazi was clad in a khaki top and black trouser.
They looked every inch happy and enjoying each others' company.

Renowned 'Jaja Wabayimbi', Dan Kazibwe aka Ragga Dee nearly collapsed when his over hyped concert turned out to be the first flop this year of our Lord. Ragga Dee whose plan was to reap big on launching his three in one Album at Kati Kati last Friday was veery disapointed by the low turn up of the revellers.
Gates were open by 6pm but the VIP section was still empty up to around 9pm when the show kicked off. This prompted MC Jimmy to consult Ragga Dee on the way forward. The ever jolly singer whose comic acts were to be overshadowed by the shock of having a very small crowd, tol Jimmy to do away with the VIP section and call upon people from the 'general will' side to take up the VIP seats.
The entrance fee was 30k for VIP and 10k for the rest of the people. The decision to mix the partiers did not only displease those who had paid 30k but left an indel Dee, who always appears with his sexy wife at such functions, this time round appeared alone as his wife is said to have spent many days away from his marital home.
Artistes like Radio and TV, Bobi Wine, Kenzo and Cindy did not shop up as earlier promised in the radio adverts. Singers Aziz Azion, Jamal, Iryn Namubiru, Chameleone, and upcoming artistes like Pretty Katende, TK, Nina Kankunda entertained the small crowd as curtain raisers.
Clad in a white suit, hestormed the stage to wow his fans at11pm. Together with two sexy gals, he performed well. However, misfortune foloowed him as one of his dancers slipped off the stage and disloacted her kandahar...sorry her ankle.
She was later rushed by the Pinnacle Security medical team for first aid. Richard Nalima, Moses Matsiko paid shs 1m for a CD each. To crown it all Ragga Dee shook off the humilation by giving out a free CD to everyone who attended the show that ended at 1am.

Mariam Mbabazi and Ragga Dee have been having misunderstandings over side dishes. Ragga Dee is smart when it comes to females in night hangouts, you will rarely see him with any of them though he keeps in touch with them.
This is the reason his wife of many years called it quits. The source added, "Ragga Dee has a concert next week but he is not even interested in it. All he wants now is to get his wife and kids back. That's all." His phone was not available for comments.

ut it looks like he is still harboring bad feelings as evidenced in the way he told of Bobi's wife Barbie recently. We have learnt that Barbie who has been in the business of selling food, snacks and beverages at her husband's One Love Beach wanted to secure more contracts from beach proprietors to extend her businesses to other beaches around Lake Victoria.
That is when she consulted Ragga Dee who also owns a beach so that she can secure the deal. Apparently, Ragga Dee told her that he would have given her a free place if Bobi had not abused him.
A source close to the singer even went ahead to add that the Mbawe singer has been mocking her saying, "If her husband claims to be rich why can't he set up a Range Rover car bond business instead of vending food."

We do not know if Fire Base Crew president Bobi Wine is trying to ignite a war against veteran singer Ragga Dee or he is just becoming hilarious. News reaching our desk reveals that Bobi Wine has named one of his dogs Ragga Dee.
But if he made maybe named it Bebe Cool, we would all have understood since the two are sworn enemies. However, naming the dog after peaceful Ragga Dee is certainly unacceptable. An insider confirmed: "Bobi Wine has a lot of love for dogs. One day he woke up and decided to call the dog Ragga Dee."
However, the two stars are not enemies. It is not the first time Bobi Wine has come up with controversial names. His two sons all have funny names. One is Nairobi and another one is Kampala. Hmmmm!

This is not Wolokoso, it is a Kika - Today we expose Uganda's top earning musicians in the last two years i.e up to July 11, 2010 when the Alshabab spoiled the party. Chameleone Shs700m - Self proclaimed Dr. Jose Chameleone did Bayuda concert in January 2009 and Basiima Ogenze early this year. The two shows were very successful. He sang the 2010 world cup song with top stars like Rowland Kelly.

The moment it was announced that established artistes Bebe Cool and Bobi Wine were set to launch on the same day, it had a ring of excitement written all over it (as far as their fans are concerned).
Now we are told the two big weights in Ugandas local music, have already started a verbal war with each claiming either one of them shifts to another date or one of them will get a heavy beating.
Our snoops landed on one of Bebe's recent sms sent to Ragga Dee telling him to change or else he is bound to fall in fire. It read, "Mugandawange ndeka maleko ne launch yange. Naye bwonetoloola ogya kugwa mukidibba. Era namba emu yampa ticket nze ne family yange tugende mu Amerika, tosobola kumalako nange era ajja kubayo"
literally translated as, "My brother let me have success with my album launch in peace. But if you don't want, you will fall in a deep ditch. Even the President paid for all my family's expenses to go to America, so you won't be able to keep up with me coz the President will also attend."
While another of Bebe's threatening text read, "Wadde oli jajja w'abayimbi, kiriza nti nze munene. Oba tusobola okukiriziganya nja kuba ku launch yo" meaning, Even if you are the Grand Father of Ugandan Music, agree that am now extra big.
But if we can agree and you change your date then I will be able to come and sing at your launch." But we have been told a defiant Ragga Dee has rejected all his proposals and he is ready to take him on.
We can't wait because this battle looks even sweeter. Watch this space!

Ragga Dee who was set to launch in July before the fateful bomb blasts while Bebe was set for October, However, they have both shifted to December. It is believed it was Ragga Dee who announced first.
When we contacted Ragga Dee, he told us that just a few days back, Bebe Cool phoned him and requested he (Ragga Dee) postpones his launch to 10th December. Ragga Dee claimed he has been helping out artistes but this time he won't postpone.
He also claimed that he had a show when Bebe did his Return of the King concert at KCC grounds, but because of brotherhood, he cancelled his. But this time he is willing to go all the way.
Bebe Cool is currently in the states where he is undergoing rehabilitation following the January gun shots he suffered.

Celebrities often change their names to appeal to stardom. Sometimes they just want their names to be more catchy, but in other instances, its to cover up their weird name! from the embarrassing to the overly long random names, celebrities try their best to delete their former names in the hope that it will go undiscovered by their adoring fans.
Some of the stars like Stefani Joane Angellina Gernmanotta (Lady Gagga), Chan Kwong Sung (Jackie Chan) Orville Richard Burrell (Shaggy) and Ugandans being copycats they are, they have joined the bandwagon in pursuit of stardom.
Below we unveil the pseudonym trend:
Mad Tiger - I think this is the most cunning animal in the cat family. What the hell wad going on in this guy's head when he opted to call himself a Mad Tiger? Tiger itself was enough to make your point. We hope u're sane though.
Chameleone - One simple question to his female fans: why do you fear the creepy reptile more than a deadly python and adore the guy who just added an 'e' to differentiate himself from the real thing? Makes no difference, Jose, We would all be glad to you Joseph Mayanja.
The Dee Syndrome - Ragga Dee, Mega Dee, Ziggy Dee. Makes no sense at all does it?
Wine - Million of people love Wine. If Bobi Wine was a wine, I wonder how many would proudly order for him. There are still skeptics who wonder whether Kyagulanyi Ssentamu was 'Ladies Wine' before he assumed the Wine name.

While fellow artistes struggle to even afford kikomando for supper , celebrated so called grand father of Ugandan music Ragga Dee is busy splashing cash on the latest state of the art rides.
WTF has learnt the chubby cheeked fella has acquired a state of the art Mercedes Benz ML 63 AMG estimated to have cost him a staggering Shs 123m before taxes. He adds this to a host of other posh cars in his garage.
The singer was seen cruising in this still numberless machine along City Square on Monday. a source told us us all the windows were lowered down for all the haters to see. We are further told he is set to bring in an Escalade and a Chrysler.
This goes on to say he is class apart from other musicians because he is the only fella among the lot that could lay claim to our recent series of B-Class lister..

It looks like in a few years every musician in Uganda will be having a beach. Snoops say that the duo sensational musicians Moze Radio and weasel TV have bought land at the Busabala beach which they are planning to turn into one of the trendiest beaches.
We are told the land is just a few kilometres away from Bobi Wine's One Love Beach. Also singer Ragga Dee who lost a cool 10m in a gambling game at Kampala Casino has his at Munyonyo.

You have listened to their music, you know who is loaded when it comes to dime, doing very well when it comes to sex lives but one thing is lacking and that is Education.
Ragga Dee: He is a music heavy weight no doubt. But when it comes to Education, he is certainly a featherweight. The self proclaimed grand father of Ugandan Music isn' t so learned. What is known is the fact that he completed his senior six from Masaka based St. Henry's College Kitovu. He claims he went to a US Institution but nope, we don't believe.
Henry Tigan: The soft spoken reggae star Henry Tigan is a fresh graduate from Kyambogo University. He graduated with a bachelors degree in Adult Community education earlier this year.He is truly a force to reckon with the upstairs department.
Bobi Wine: Singer Bobi Wine is truly a great man. He grew up from the Ghetto but that never stopped him from acquiring a degree in Music from Makerere University. Seriously the Mazzi Mawanvu singer is a heavy weight in the education section unlike his top competitors.
Juliana Kanyomozi: She is the reigning PAM Award artiste of the year, she is talented, an amazing figure and a very good voice but sadly, very few teachers heard it. Sources reveal that Juliana due to social and financial problems stopped in Senior Five. We are told she could escape from school and hit Sabrinas Pub for Karaoke in the 1990's. So lucky she had a killer voice.
Moze Radio: is one hell of a dangerous singer who definitely has a big and bright future ahead. He is a graduate from Makerere University. He completed a degree in Community Psychology but I don't understand why his English is suspect.
Straka Mwezi: The celebrated music MC and WBS late show star has seen it all. She has been on the social scene for far far too long and worked and worked on almost all the best Radio and TV stations in uganda. And Bars! She has rubbed shoulders with Uganda's richest and is ever invited at the best functions in town. You just can't mess with Straka. But wait a minute, she never completed school. Senior Four was her highest.
Jose Chameleone: He is undoubtedly a heavy weight in the music but when it comes to school, he is a light weight. Just like pal Bebe Cool, The Ba Yuda star is a senior six graduate. And again like Bebe, he stormed to Nairobi and released his first hit Mama Mia. Since then he has not looked back.
Iryn Namubiru: She Released one hit that took her heights but ever since it's been down all the way through even though she has tried that much to revive her career with collaborations. Well she is married to a white guy and dime is available but her education is in slumber mode. Sources indicate that the last time she checked out a black board was in Senior Three.
Karitas Karisimbi: She is gorgeous! Now imagine if she had gone to school. She would be a perfect model woman. But sadly, she dropped out in Senior six from City High School and hit Kampala streets. Ever since she has worked on WBS, Capital Radio, and now she is back on WBS. She's definitely seen it all.
Jackie Chandiru: The Blu3 heartthrob was offering a degree in Industrial Fine Art at MUK but later dropped. Retakes were accumulating like hell. she was spending most of her time in the Sir Apollo Kaggwa Hostel Baston instead of class. They were set to fire her anyway.
Weasel TV: Just like his older brother Jose Chameleone, Weasel TV isn' t learned. We hear he dropped out of school in Senior Three. No wonder he call himself TV. I doubt if he knows what it means.
Desire Luzinda: Ah, Seya's pal! Desire Luzinda is undoubtedly a great singer with a great body. But one thing that has eluded her is a certificate or any academic document of note. Ok she's got a senior six certificate but that is what she has. In 2004, she joined Makerere University for a development studies degree course. The two years later, she dropped out and joined campus but this time Nkozi University for a long distance course. We hear she dropped out of it too.. Ahhh!
