Last Saturday, all roads were leading to Serena Hotel which was the venue for the Miss Uganda pageant. Leah Kagasa beat all the other contestants to the top prize. She won herself a gray Toyota Wish and a night for two in Serena Mombasa. Leah will be representing Uganda in the Miss World competition. The Dokolo MP, Cecilia Ogwal, handed over the car key to the MUBS student. In Cecelia Ogwal's long CV, it turned out she was the very first beauty queen way back in 1969. The legislator went on to tell other contestants that they were all winners having participated in the competition. The event was broadcasted live on BBS TV. "Thank you so much Uganda for believing in me to take this position of leadership as your Miss Uganda 2016/2017. I am exceedingly grateful and believe me, this will be one of the best years that Miss Uganda has ever had! God Is with us,@ Leah noted on her wall. Her parents were more than excited to see their daughter take the top prize. Aside from the presents, Leah Kalanguka won an additional Shs 3m from businessman SK Mbuga who appointed her as the ambassador for SK Mbuga Foundation. The 1st and 2nd runners up won prizes that include a night for two at Serena Hotel Kampala. Notable among those present was female artist, Jackie Chandiru. Naava Grey was among the night's performers. The Miss World pageant will be held on December 20 in Washington DC. It's the second time in history that the beauty pageant will be held in the USA.
