Andrew Kabuura, a sports commentator is the host of Revved Up, a motor show on NTV that airs every Wednesday at 8:30pm show casing celebrity rides among others. Rapper Navio, TV host Denzel, Uganda Cranes coach Micho and NTV's Flavia Tumusiime have so far appeared on the past shows.
The celebrity segment has in the past shows featured 2 Rav4's owned by Micho and Flavia, Navio's Merc and Denzel's 3000cc 2 seater white BMW and those yet to be featured are Leila's BMW, Bebe Cool's CLS350 and Hummer probably among others.
The mere fact that RAV4's are ranking top in the very first weeks of the show simply confirms that, it won't be long before there won't be anymore celebrity rides to show, may be that section should be opened up for posh rides around town irrespective of whether they are owned by celebs or not.
Otherwise, after including Mbuga and Katsha's rides, the celebrity segment might soon be exhausted in the infancy stages of the show. It's even not clear if Katsha's rides can hit the road, you are allowed a specific period to have foreign registration plates, short of that, you acquire local registration plates or drive/ship it back to country of origin. Below is Mbuga's BMW X6 whose registration plate has changed to 'SK MBUGA 6'.
Car enthusiasts want the show to feature more of the brands that are affordable because that is where the majority fall. In yesterday's show, a Suzuki Ciaz, model 2015 going for Shs83million was recommended but you will be amazed of how many Ugandans out of the 36 million will part with that price for a Sedan car, they are just a handful.
