A section of fans are not happy with singer Maureen Nantume. As the entertainment industry is mourning the death of AK47, Maureen was yesterday at Hotel Africana launching her traditional wedding meetings by distributing a well designed budget plus details of how and where the money should be sent. It should be recalled that on Wednesday afternoon, a memorial service for the fallen singer was held at Lweza along Entebbe-Kampala highway, and oh yes, some of the artistes who were at Hotel Africana had attended the service like Sophie Gombya, but the fans insist, that is just not right, Nantume could have waited now that it was only a matter of hours before AK47 was to be laid to rest. The singer whose relationship status on facebook reflects 'Complicated' came out to defend her actions. "God is good all the time and I'm grateful for having blessed me with good friends who have graced my introduction launch in large numbers. I'm aware of people trying to pick a fight with me but I'm not the type to engage in catfights, so if it's hurling insults, you will only get tired because that is not the way I was brought up." She then assured one who said that she was trying to settle her debts that's why she is in such a hurry to launch and can't even wait for a day. "While growing up, we were not that well off, so for that reason, I'm not taken up by money and if it's a war you are starting off with me, then you have won." Maureen Nantume was one of the maids at the just concluded Stecia-Abbas wedding which was first cancelled then hours later, parents gave it a go ahead. The other maids were Rebecca Jingo, whose marriage collapsed before it's first anniversary, Flavia Namulindwa and b.ummy Catherine Kusasira who dumped her hubby to date another man, and now, they are back together as one.
