"Growing up and hearing that we're all from Africa and being able to go there and witness it for yourself, to see the people and feel the love it's an awesome feeling," were the words of Christopher Martin on his trip to Uganda.
Martin is no stranger to Uganda but after what happened yesterday, it's not clear if he will be back any time soon. His show now ranks as the worst flopped show compared to Sisqo and Davido shows.
Christopher Martin's music is good and had the promoter done enough to promote the show, it would have been different. While appearing on NTV The Beat with Douglas, Chris Martin told the UG Galz to love him now and not later, because he would have gone back to Jamaica.
On the show, they gave out three tickets, so those tickets plus about 17 other people formed part of the revellers. Chris Martin was last seen at Freedom City on Friday afternoon, he had gone to do a soundcheck.
Just days back, another Jamaican star, Busy Signal, was billed to perform at Water Beach Front in Entebbe on 31.Aug.2014, but the show did not take place and Busy said; "This change was due to circumstances solely in the promoters control and was not contributed to by Busy or Turf Music Entertainment."
In a related development, fast rising star, Maro of the Mubbi Bubbi fame had a well attended show at Mackinnon Suites on the very day Christopher Martin was to perform at Freedom City. Maro will be performing in Jinja today at Crested Crane Hotel.
