Comedian Kato Lubwama while appearing on NTV Koona last night talked about a number of issues in the Uganda music industry. The comedian cum politician who intends to unseat Hon. Ken Lukyamuzi in the Rubaga South constituency was very bitter with plans to change the Uganda National Anthem; "Do they want it to sound like these 'Bidandali' songs," he asked. Among others he said:
At the time of his interview, the Radio and TV awards were on at Sheraton Kampala with NTV taking over 10 accolades for their programs (NTV XPosed (Kats), Da Beat, Akawungeezi, NTV Tonite, NTV Life Stories, plus several presenters), but the CBS presenter said the awards were fake. He was asked whether he could accept such an award, he said NO. "These are awards which are being organised by a few people in bars." He then requested for any Afrigo band song. Interestingly, the majority of callers to the show were siding with his views.
