Frank Gashumba Bitter With the BTA Team

The Buzz Teeniez Awards (BTA) 2014 were held on Saturday. The big boys (Bebe Cool, Bobi Wine and Jose Chameleone) were not any where on the winners list and so was Sheila Gashumba (18) who has been dominating the Teeniez Teen TV show presenter category for the last so many years. This year, she lost it to little known MC Talha.

This rubbed Sheila's dad, Frank Gashumba the wrong way and in his long tirade, we managed to extract these lines.

"It’s not about Sheilah Gashumba, it’s about the credibility of Ugandan Awards." He went on giving a long list of Sheila's achievements overtime.

"We are not grooming Sheilah for the Local market, we are grooming her for International market, we are grooming her to Lead not to be Led by people below her. At her age, she has been invited to different countries. That’s why I always say on Radio and TV that this country is dead. it will take us 50 years to bring it back. How can you doctor awards for teenagers and you have no shame?!"

We dont' buy awards, we work for awards. Respect is not bought, It’s earned, he concluded. Some of his close friends advised him to look at it on a lighter side and instead focus on the bigger things ahead for his daughter.
