During the just concluded Hipipo Awards, Rema thanked Bebe Cool for all that he had done for her and did not stop at that but also reached out to him for a handshake.

As she left the stage, she reached out to Bebe Cool for a handshake in appreciation of all that he had done for her while still with the Gagamel Crew, but Bebe Cool's body language spoke volumes.

"There comes a time when a child must get on his/her feet, but that does not mean that a baby can run," Those were some of Bebe Cool's words shortly after firing Rema from Gagamel Crew. In what seemed like a baby running, Rema was among the top winners for the widely criticised Hi Pipo Awards.

Rema's 'Kukaliba' got the nod for 'Best Female RnB song and Bebe Cool was called in to hand over the accolade, but, he declined. The organizers passed on the accolade to Rema. The 'Sitaki' singer won two more accolades including one where she beat all the female artistes to take 'Best Female Artist'. The other was her 'Kukaliba' song winning 'Best RnB Song'.

On the other hand, Bebe Cool was the man of the night with six accolades that included; Artist of the Year, Best Male Artist, Best Artist on Social Media, Best on Stage Performer, Kokodiosis was voted the best Ragga Dance Hall song and Love Letter which he did with Irene Ntale was voted the Best Male Reggae Song.
