News Anchor Gabriel Epenu In Fatal Accident

NTV news anchor and reporter, Gabriel Epenu, was yesterday night involved in a fatal accident. Gabriel also Iryn Namubiru's lover was driving a Toyota Prado (UAN-Q series) with three other colleagues that included Edgar Were who unfortunately did not make it. They were returning from Kayunga after attending a birthday party.

Using their facebook page, NTV Uganda has confirmed that Gabriel's condition is critical but stable. "Gabriel Epenu was involved in a car accident on Saturday night which unfortunately claimed the life of his friend Edgar Were. Epenu is receiving the best medical care and his condition is critical but stable. Our prayers are with him and Were's family. We will keep you abreast of any developments."

The accident happened around Festino City in Mukono when Gabriel lost control after knocking a coffee truck. Gabriel now remains hospitalized at Mulago Hospital's intensive care unit.

Get well messages for Gabriel are now dominating most social networks and the latest information from close family members indicates that Gabriel is responding very well to treatment and in a stable condition. Quick recovery to Gabriel and RIP to Edgar.
