Iryn Namubiru's Japan based promoter, Kim Ueno has been cleared of drug charges. Kim Tumwesigye aka Kim Ueno was arrested on suspicion of being behind the drugs that Iryn was found with in her luggage while on a music tour in Japan. Accusations against Kim have been dropped by the Makindye court due to insufficient evidence.

A source at the Makindye court noted that; "They were not ready to proceed with the case after police had failed to find more evidence pinning him, leaving them with no choice but to set him free."

At the time of his arrest, police spokesperson, Ibin Sekumbi noted that they had two options before them, either to hand him to the Japanese police or to charge him within our courts, they chose the latter and for now, the rest is history.

Fresh from the Head2Head Independence UK show, Iryn is yet to comment on this development.  Iryn came back to Kampala on Oct 30 and since then, she has been working on clearing her black Cygnus that was impounded by Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) on the eve of her 'Tebiba Bingi' concert at Hotel Africana.

Here is a tweet from URA confirming the release of Iryn's ride: "Irene Namubiru clears her #IncomeTax debt &we’ve released her car. Other artistes, are coming in to honour their dues."
