Yesterday was the Black Entertainment, Film, Fashion, Television and Arts (BEFFTA) 2013 awards that were held at The Hippodrome in London. Comedian Anne Kansiime emerged the winner of 'Best Comedian' beating the likes of Richard Blackhood and Don't Jelous Me among others.
In her acceptance speech, Anne used a strong Western Uganda accent stating how much she valued the award and the more reason she came in person. On her wall, she wrote: "I won my dearest Ninjas!! Thank you so much for the love!! I swear, I will not cheat on you."
This has been Anne's year. Just a few days back, she was introducing her lover, Gerald to her parents in Kasese something that got her fans excited though it took time for some to actually know that it was real and not a comedy stint
In a related development, Jose Chameleone has also won a BEFFTA award beating last year's winner, Juliana Kanyomozi to take the 'Best International Act'.
"It's hard to fully express my gratitude towards all of you who appreciate my music, and love African music at large. You are the reason I have managed to add another on to my list and rankings. Am fresh and still jubilating with you this joyous feeling in me, I congratulate my fans worldwide, we did this together," Chameleone said while thanking his fans worldwide
Ex Tusker Project Fame contestant, Grey Naava was among the nominees for the 'Best International Act'.
