Juliana Kanyomozi Dedicates WARID Award to Mom

"Thank you WARID TELECOM for the WOMAN OF SUBSTANCE AWARD in entertainment. I'm humbled to have been nominated with such strong, ambitious Ugandan women. I look up to so many of you. I dedicate this award to my mother. You are my inspiration."

Those were the words of multi-award winning artiste Juliana Kanyomozi on getting her latest Woman of Substance Award from telecommunication company, WARID Telecom. The awarding ceremony was held at Serena Hotel on Wednesday night. Last year, Judith Babirye took this particular award.

The awards were recognising women who have excelled in several areas of life that included among others internationally active women like Winnie Byanyima and Noeline Kareeba, the brain behind TASO and the HIV fight in Uganda. The awards were part of the celebrations to mark the International Women's Day.
