NTV's Flavia Tumusiime made one year yesterday as a news anchor at the Serena Hotel based TV station.
"Today I make one year as a news anchor, my current role on tv. The other picture is from my years on teens club, my first tv job and what made me. Celebrating the star," she captioned the two pics.
Television has been her thing since she was a teen. The pic on the left, young and slightly darker was during her time at WBS while still host of WBS Teen's club and the other is Flavia now, curvy and light.
When not on TV, Flavia is presenting the mid-morning AM-FM radio show on 91.3 Capital FM. Short of that, she is an MC and actress. She is also Uganda's first Channel O VJ.
She shared stories from her life and career, but this was the best;
"In 2012 when I hosted Big brother Africa i also got to interview US rapper J-Cole. I had been so excited about the interview because i was a fan and i knew most of his music. The interview went so well and after the show, my colleagues and i went for the show after-party. J-Cole also came with his team and we were asked to take group pics, we did, but as a fan, I asked for a pic with just me and him and he was okay with it. After the pic, he told me " shawty you look nice and i loved the interview" lol I guess that is how rappers speak."
"We chatted for sometime, my naive self thinking it was 2 people having a professional conversation about music. There were girls that had been set to sit with him and dance with him, I moved away and left them to have their fun, an hour later, one of his guards came to our booth asking me to follow him, that he wanted to talk to me about something privately, as he pulled me away, my colleague came and grabbed my hand and asked to speak to me...she said "I bet he wants a moment with you alone, don't be stupid, he thinks you are available"
"I was shocked at this and I told the guard to go and tell him I was okay here and if it was important he can come to us. I was still shocked, what vibe did I give off that made me look like I wanted to go with him privately??? well my colleague told me, you must be careful how you act around people, the extra giggle, the body language, the words you use could all create a perception you don't want."
She concludes; "Till today I use this advise. Your actions could incite a reaction you are not prepared for so be careful how you relate towards strangers, be sure of the signals you are sending out."

Wuuyo singer A Pass real name Bagonza Alexander has poured his heart out to NTV news anchor Flavia Tumusiime. The singer is madly deeply in love with the radio and TV personality. Using his facebook, A Pass made his intentions known to his fans claiming that there was no other way other than using this option.
"I love you Tumusiime Flavia I have loved you from day 1. I am sorry I had to say it here but it's the only way I could do it to get your attention I love You."
He went on to ask, "Do you think it's Cool to confess or express your love for someone on social media?" He concluded with "Dont you want me baby" which is his latest song also a dedication to the TV star as a way of expressing his love.
"Life is short, live it. Love is rare, grab it. Memories are sweet, cherish them. Flavian is too beautiful, Tell her," he concluded.
The post has close to 7,000 likes and over 1,000 comments.

TV host, news anchor and radio personality, Flavia Tumusiime, has so far shared 8 days of her '30 days of Flavia Tumusiime' series and she reveals, it's not been an easy run to get where she is, such is life.
She started her career as a teen, to be exact, she was 14 when she started working with WBS TV as a Teen's Club show host moved to Hot 100 radio before joining Capital FM. Other than that, she is a model, actress, Channel O VJ and the first East African to host Africa's favorite reality TV show, Big Brother Africa in 2012.
On Day 1 - Flavia revealed how she crossed from Hot 100 to Capital FM. Flavia who was 18 then was asked to quit and join 91.3 Capital FM, she declined saying she loved the music and was relating well with the Hot 100 team.
"If you want to be successful in the next years and build any sort of career, make a decision based on what you will want in the future and not what you like today," her then new boss to be said, Flavia later signed.
"Word of advise, even if you are at your last grain of strength, never show desperation. Be confident that the best asset is you and with that, you can acquire anything else.."
At 27, Flavia Tumusiime is now a news anchor at the Serena based NTV Uganda.
