A 48-year-old social worker who disappeared last week after attending a professional meeting in Jinja City has been safely located. She was found abandoned along the Northern Bypass in the Kyebando suburb of Kampala.
Ms Julie Mukisa, a dedicated community development worker who operates an organization supporting orphans in Jinja, was discovered by locals on Saturday. According to reports, she was found unconscious in a swampy area, exhibiting swollen legs and faintly calling out for assistance.
Ms Mukisa has since started recounting the harrowing ordeal of her alleged abduction following her sudden disappearance. Local authorities and community members have expressed relief at her recovery, though concerns remain regarding safety and the circumstances surrounding her vanishing act.
Police are expected to piece together her timeline and the events that led to her abandonment in the capital city. Further investigations will likely determine how she ended up in the swampy area of Kyebando.
