Fik Fameica Clashes With Makerere Guild President During Freshers' Ball

Makerere University’s Impis Rugby Grounds transformed into a vibrant hub of music and youthful energy as thousands of students turned out for the annual Freshers’ Ball. Despite intermittent downpours, freshers and continuing students braved the weather to enjoy a star-studded musical lineup that featured performances from Winnie Wa Mummy, Nina Roz, Feffe Bussi, and Hanz MC.

However, the highlight of the evening unfolded when Ugandan music star Fik Fameica took to the stage. Shortly after his set began, Guild President Gracious Kadondi, joined by members of her team, walked up and seized the microphone to address the cheering crowd, interrupting the performance.

The unexpected intrusion quickly escalated into a tense on-stage confrontation. Fik Fameica firmly demanded that the Guild President vacate the platform so he could continue his set, famously telling her to leave the stage because he had work to do.

As the crowd began chanting the artist’s name in support, security personnel swiftly intervened, escorting Kadondi and her entourage off the stage. Fik Fameica then resumed his performance, drawing even louder cheers from the energized student body.

Videos of the dramatic exchange quickly spread across social media platforms, making it the central talking point of the weekend. Organized by the 92nd Students’ Guild, the free-entry welcome event ultimately pushed past the weather and the brief controversy to deliver a memorable celebration that kept students entertained into the early hours of Sunday morning.
