Law enforcement authorities in Pallisa District have taken a 12-year-old primary school pupil into custody following allegations of aggravated defilement involving a two-year-old toddler. The shocking incident took place on a Wednesday afternoon within Nansenyi Cell, located in Kaucho Ward, Pallisa Town Council.
According to police reports, the young victim’s mother had briefly stepped away from her home to purchase food at a nearby market, leaving her daughter in the care of the juvenile suspect. Upon returning just after midday, the mother noticed sandals discarded outside the doorway. Becoming suspicious, she pulled back the curtain and allegedly found the minor on top of the toddler with their clothes removed.
Bukedi North Regional Police Spokesperson ASP Wilfred Kyempasa stated that the matter was promptly reported to Pallisa Police Station, registered under SD Reference 60/28/10/2026 and CRB 508/2026.
A specialized team consisting of female police officers and a midwife conducted an initial examination of the young victim, noting visible signs of sexual assault. The juvenile suspect, whose identity is being withheld due to his age, is a pupil at Valley View Primary School and remains detained at the station.
Investigators have since recorded formal statements from the victim’s mother, witnesses, and the suspect. Authorities are arranging for the toddler to undergo a comprehensive medical examination using Police Form 3A, while the young suspect is scheduled for age and mental assessments via Police Form 24A as inquiries continue.
