Zari Hassan Slams Simon Kagwa Njala Over Ivan Semwanga Death Theories

Socialite and businesswoman Zari Hassan has openly criticized journalist Simon Kagwa Njala following his speculation regarding the circumstances of her late ex-husband Ivan Semwanga’s death. Njala had previously suggested that the prominent businessman might not actually be dead.

During a local television interview, Zari firmly dismissed the claims. She pointed out that Semwanga passed away in South Africa, after which his remains were officially transported back to Uganda for burial.

The businesswoman did not hold back her frustration, questioning Njala’s motives and dismissing his claims of contacting a South African hospital for medical records.

“I found out that when you are really idle and poor, you start imagining things that don’t exist,” Zari stated. She emphasized that medical institutions uphold strict patient-hospital confidentiality policies and would not simply release records to random callers.

Zari stressed that the bereaved family was directly involved in every step of the process. She noted that they confirmed his passing, secured the necessary paperwork, and brought him home. Furthermore, she highlighted that a postmortem examination was conducted in Uganda, and Semwanga’s sons personally prepared his body in line with Buganda cultural traditions.
