The High Court in Kampala has intervened in an escalating family feud by appointing the widow and a daughter of the late businessman and politician Moses Karangwa as joint temporary administrators of his expansive estate.

Justice Lawrence Gidudu issued the ruling, naming Ms Joyce Kirabo Florence and Ms Jackline Kobusingye Birungi to oversee the multibillion-shilling portfolio. The temporary arrangement is set to remain in place while the court processes a substantive suit concerning the proper administration and distribution of the assets.

Court records reveal that the former National Resistance Movement leader and presidential advisor left behind a vast commercial empire comprising more than 20 active companies. Following his tragic death in a road crash, disagreements quickly surfaced among surviving family members over control of the extensive business interests and properties.

The appointment aims to stabilize the estate operations and protect the business entities from disruption while the legal battle over the final administration plays out in court.
