Pearl Bank Wins Inaugural PR Crown Jewel Accolade at PRAU Excellence Awards

Pearl Bank emerged as a major victor at the 10th Public Relations Association of Uganda (PRAU) Excellence Awards, claiming the prestigious inaugural PR Crown Jewel Award. The grand event, hosted at the Source of the Nile Hotel in Jinja, coincided with PRAU’s Golden Jubilee celebrations marking half a century of professional public relations practice in Uganda.

The newly introduced PR Crown Jewel Award stands as a special judge’s choice distinction requiring no formal entry, ranking just beneath the Lifetime Achievement Award. The judges selected Pearl Bank after evaluating an array of submissions, highlighting the institution’s exceptional rebranding story and transparent, evidence-based communication strategy following its transition from PostBank Uganda.

In addition to the top accolade, Pearl Bank secured three Gold Standard Awards in the Media Relations and Corporate Storytellers categories, alongside the Impact Beyond Profit Award for its impactful social initiatives. The institution also earned a silver recognition in the Culture Champions category for staff engagement.

Priscilla Akora, the bank’s Head of Marketing and Communications, noted that the multiple awards validate the strategic application of communications during their corporate evolution. She emphasized that the messaging successfully reassured customers while driving forward the bank’s mission to foster prosperity across the nation.
