Police in Amolatar District have launched an investigation following the tragic death of a 22-year-old man who was allegedly killed by his younger brother during a domestic altercation.

The incident took place on October 26, 2026, in Alelangao B Village, Odyam Parish, Muntu Sub-county. According to local reports, the two siblings were inside their residence around 9 a.m. when a heated verbal disagreement suddenly escalated into a physical fight.

During the scuffle, the 18-year-old suspect allegedly struck his brother, Jacob Okwang, on the head with a hoe handle, leaving him with critical injuries. Neighbors and residents rushed the injured man to Alelangao Health Centre II for emergency medical attention, but he unfortunately succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival.

Authorities from the Amolatar Central Police Station swiftly responded to the scene to document evidence and gather witness statements. The body of the deceased was later transferred to Amolatar Health Centre IV to undergo a postmortem examination.

North Kyoga Region Police spokesperson, Patrick Jimmy Okema, confirmed that a formal murder case has been registered at Muntu Police Station. Police have taken the teenage suspect into custody as inquiries into the underlying cause of the dispute continue.

This tragic event marks the second reported murder case in the Lango Sub-region involving an 18-year-old suspect during the month of October, following a separate fatal family dispute over land earlier in the month.
