As primary school candidates across Uganda prepare to sit for their Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE), authorities have stepped up calls for community support to safeguard the mental well-being of learners.
In Kitagwenda District, the Resident District Commissioner (RDC) has specifically advised parents and guardians to shield children from domestic disputes and heavy home responsibilities during this critical academic season.
According to the RDC, exposing young candidates to family wrangles and unnecessary stress can severely impact their concentration, confidence, and overall performance in the national examinations.
Education stakeholders, including teachers and school administrators, have been encouraged to foster a collaborative environment. Ensuring that learners receive proper emotional and psychological backing both at home and in school is considered vital for success.
Parents are further urged to provide basic school requirements and encourage learners to remain focused as they head into the examination halls.
