The National Drug Authority (NDA) has escalated its safety measures by ordering a full recall of all batches of ZAHA Suspension. The medication, which is commonly prescribed to treat various bacterial infections, is manufactured by India-based Ajanta Pharma Limited.

According to the regulatory body, deeper investigations uncovered systemic quality issues that went beyond the initial targeted batches. This latest directive supersedes an earlier communication issued on October 16 by NDA Secretary Dr. David Nahamya, which had initially restricted the recall to specific production batches.

The expanded recall notice was communicated directly to the local technical representative for the pharmaceutical product, Abacus Pharma (A) Ltd. Authorities are urging healthcare providers and pharmacies to immediately quarantine any remaining stock and halt the distribution or administration of the drug to patients.

Patients who currently possess the medication are advised to consult their healthcare providers for alternative treatments. The NDA continues to monitor the situation closely to ensure public safety standards are strictly maintained across the country’s pharmaceutical supply chain.
