Veteran Ugandan musician Jose Chameleone has voiced strong frustration over the current state of Kampala’s entertainment calendar, claiming that event promoters are actively working to sabotage his upcoming music show.

The legendary singer is scheduled to hold a major concert on December 4 at the Lugogo Cricket Oval. However, he believes that a sudden influx of international performers booked for the same timeframe is a calculated move to draw crowds away from his event and weaken his market presence.

Speaking on the situation, Chameleone questioned why event organizers continue to prioritize foreign acts over homegrown talent. He argued that instead of empowering and uplifting Ugandan musicians, the heavy reliance on international stars ultimately harms the local music industry.

Kampala’s entertainment scene is currently bracing for a busy season, with several high-profile international acts—including Diamond Platnumz, Konshens, Fally Ipupa, and Uncle Waffles—lined up to perform in the capital around the same period leading up to Chameleone’s show.

While the competition for music fans is fierce during the festive buildup, Chameleone’s claims of a deliberate plot against him remain allegations, as no concrete evidence has been provided to prove that promoters are intentionally working to undermine his success.
