Ugandan civil engineering giant Roko Construction Limited has added another major milestone to its history after securing the prestigious Platinum Award for Quality Excellence at the East African Brand Quality Awards 2025/26.
The regional recognition highlights the firm’s exceptional performance in delivering high-quality workmanship, innovative engineering, and sustainable construction practices across major infrastructure developments. The ceremony, held at Hotel Africana in Kampala, brought together leading brands from across East and Southern Africa under the theme of pioneering sustainable innovations and advancing technology.
Nominated brands underwent a rigorous evaluation process focused on service reliability, build quality, and consumer trust, with technical support provided by the UK-based Chartered Quality Institute. Roko’s Chairman, Mr. Mark Koehler, credited the victory to the hard work of the firm’s workforce and its steadfast dedication to industry standards.
Established in Uganda in 1969 by the late Max Rohrer and Rainer Kohler, the company has grown into a premier regional contractor. Over more than five decades, Roko has built numerous iconic national landmarks, including the Uganda Martyrs Shrine at Namugongo, the Bank of Uganda headquarters, Mapeera House, and the newly completed Ministry of Finance headquarters in Kampala.
