The Makerere University Muslim Students Association (MUMSA) Daawa Show, broadcast on Salam TV, recently dedicated an episode to exploring three fundamental principles that form the foundation of Muslim faith and daily practice.
Hosted by Lubulwa Saadi and Naluwu Fatumah, the programme emphasized that every Muslim ought to grasp these essential teachings. The discussion was centered on three key areas: knowing Allah, understanding the religion of Islam, and knowing Prophet Muhammad.
Knowing Allah
Addressing the identity of the Lord, the presenters explained that Allah is the ultimate Creator and Sustainer of the universe, and the only deity worthy of worship. Citing Surah Al-Fatihah, the show highlighted that praise belongs to the Lord of all creation. Presenters noted that believers can recognize Allah through His magnificent signs, such as the alternation of night and day, the sun, the moon, and the heavens, referencing verses from Surah Fussilat and Surah Al-A’raf.
Understanding Islam
The second principle focused on comprehending one’s religion. The show defined Islam as the complete submission to Allah through pure monotheism, obedience to His commands, and the total rejection of false deities. Furthermore, the discussion outlined the three distinct levels of religion: Islam, Iman (faith), and Ihsan (excellence in worship and moral conduct).
Knowing Prophet Muhammad
The final principle explored the noble lineage and role of Prophet Muhammad. The presenters traced his ancestry back through the Quraysh tribe to Prophet Ismail, the son of Prophet Ibrahim. Citing Surah Ali ‘Imran, the programme stressed that true devotion to Allah requires following the teachings and example of Prophet Muhammad, which serves as a pathway to divine love and forgiveness.
Through this insightful broadcast, the MUMSA Daawa Show encouraged believers to deepen their knowledge of their faith, strengthen their spiritual connection, and better understand their Creator.
