The Police Exodus SACCO has stepped in to support police officers whose homes and belongings were recently destroyed by a fire at the Wandegeya Police Barracks in Kampala.
A delegation led by ASP Peter Mubiru, the SACCO’s Head of Business and Operations, delivered various essential supplies to the Wandegeya Division Police Commander, SP Willis Ndaula. The donated items included blankets, posho, beans, sugar, milk, bread, and assorted toiletries.
Speaking during the handover, ASP Mubiru noted that the gesture underscores the SACCO’s corporate social responsibility and its dedication to the welfare of its members during difficult times. He explained that beyond the immediate relief supplies, the financial institution is prepared to offer long-term recovery assistance.
“We shall engage the affected members in serious discussions and ensure that they receive the necessary support to help them return to normal life. We have tailored financial services to address such needs,” Mubiru stated. He also used the opportunity to encourage law enforcement personnel to maintain a strong savings culture to easily access emergency loans during unforeseen crises.
Receiving the donation, SP Willis Ndaula expressed deep appreciation for the timely intervention. He noted that while the supplies cannot replace everything lost in the blaze, the gesture significantly boosts the morale of the affected personnel.
Ndaula further acknowledged the broader police leadership for providing replacement mattresses, uniforms, and boots to help officers resume their duties without delay.
