Minister for the Presidency Milly Babalanda has strongly advised residents in the Busoga sub-region to refrain from self-medication and instead seek professional medical help at recognized health facilities. Speaking during a funeral ceremony in Jinja District, she emphasized that early detection and proper clinical intervention are critical for saving lives and improving overall treatment outcomes.

Beyond healthcare, the minister used the platform to address broader socio-economic issues. She urged the community to maintain vigilance against HIV/AIDS, stressing that collective responsibility and regular testing remain vital to ending the epidemic as a public health threat. She also praised President Yoweri Museveni for his leadership in the national health response.

Turning to poverty alleviation, Babalanda encouraged citizens to actively participate in government wealth-creation initiatives such as the Parish Development Model, Emyooga, and the Four-Acre Model. She noted that these programs are designed to boost household incomes and foster socio-economic transformation.

Families were further advised to venture into small-scale enterprises like poultry keeping, piggery, and vegetable growing to diversify their income streams and enhance food security. Additionally, the minister cautioned against excessive land fragmentation, warning that dividing land into unviable portions threatens sustainable agriculture.
