The High Court trial of Dr Kizza Besigye and his co-accused has heard testimony detailing the covert electronic devices allegedly used to record meetings in connection with the treason charges.

Testifying as the third prosecution witness, Detective Inspector Benedict Odyek told the court that various gadgets were handed to him by a man identified as Andrew Wilson. Among the items received, documented, and marked during the investigation were a necklace fitted with a concealed camera and a wall socket equipped with a covert camera.

According to the detective, the recordings in question were captured by the first prosecution witness, Mr. Wilson Andrew—also known as Orlando—during secret operations in Athens, Geneva, and Nairobi.

During the proceedings, the court learned that some of the material gathered during the investigation was ultimately deemed irrelevant to the treason probe. Relevant audio and video recordings were subsequently copied onto two smaller flash disks, each with a storage capacity of 16GB, to facilitate the legal process.

The high-profile treason case continues to unfold as prosecutors present physical and digital evidence before the judiciary.
