A significant cohort of over 250 women entrepreneurs from Mityana, Kassanda, and Mubende districts recently participated in a comprehensive five-day business management and entrepreneurship training. This initiative, part of the Generating Growth Opportunities and Productivity for Women Enterprises (GROW) Project, is designed to bolster the capacity of women to establish, manage, and expand their businesses.
Dr. Isma Nkambwe, a trainer from Celes-Malaika Joint Venture, highlighted that the program provided practical skills essential for navigating the complexities of enterprise management. The training specifically targets common challenges faced by women-owned businesses, aiming to equip participants with enhanced decision-making abilities and strategic growth knowledge.
Participants expressed optimism about the practical benefits of the training. Doreen Nabbossa, a participant, noted the inherent difficulties women often encounter in starting and sustaining businesses. She emphasized that the skills gained are expected to directly address these hurdles, fostering greater financial independence and enabling participants to improve their household incomes through more effective business practices.
The GROW Project’s overarching goal is to foster economic empowerment by strengthening entrepreneurial skills and supporting the development of women-led enterprises. The training provided a crucial platform for knowledge exchange and skill development, preparing these women to overcome obstacles and achieve greater success in their entrepreneurial journeys.
This training was facilitated by the GROW Project, aimed at enhancing business acumen and fostering sustainable enterprises among women in the region. https://nilepost.co.ug/news/380377/more-than-250-women-receive-business-training-in-mityana
