The National Pool League made a resounding return after a three-week pause, with Samona Ladies and Upper Volta unleashing dominant performances. Samona dismantled the returning She Buyers with a commanding 19-1 scoreline at Amigos, Kansanga. Their strength was further bolstered by the addition of national team captain Amina Faith Nganda, who joined from Mukono and contributed to the team’s overwhelming success, alongside Jacinta Kajubi, Zaimat Nabafu, and Marion Kisaakye.

Similarly, last season’s men’s finalists, Upper Volta, achieved an identical 19-1 victory against Nakawa. Yudah Ssembuusi was a standout performer for Upper Volta, notching three break-and-runs in his four-frame win. Peter Mayinja also contributed significantly with four wins, including an ‘A’.

Defending ladies’ champions, Mukono Ladies, however, faced a tougher challenge. They narrowly escaped an upset against an improved Akaanya side, securing an 11-9 win. Rashida Mutesi’s crucial final frame secured the victory for Mukono after a tense battle. Despite the loss, Akaanya’s coach, Nathan Bwankosya, expressed pride in his team’s performance against the reigning champions.

In the men’s standings, Scrap Buyers are second, trailing leaders Roxberry, while Upper Volta sits third, level on points with Adi’s and Club 408. Samona and Mukono currently lead the ladies’ table, both on nine points.
