Pupils at Perfect Nursery and Primary School in Kulambiro are now set to benefit from enhanced sanitation and hygiene following the official commissioning of a new Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) project by the Rotary Club of Kulambiro.

This initiative is designed to boost access to crucial sanitation and hygiene facilities while simultaneously fostering good hygiene habits among the students. The ultimate goal is to cultivate a school environment that is cleaner, safer, and healthier for everyone.

During the commissioning ceremony, Eddie Rush Ntumwa, President of the Rotary Club of Kulambiro, highlighted the project as a testament to Rotary’s dedication to improving children’s welfare and strengthening communities through sustainable projects. He emphasized that good hygiene practices are fundamental to protecting children’s health and supporting their educational journey.

Ntumwa further underscored the importance of adequate sanitation facilities in creating a conducive learning atmosphere. He stated that schools require proper infrastructure to help students maintain hygiene and ward off sanitation-related issues, ensuring every child has the right to learn in a clean and healthy setting.

The project is anticipated to bring about substantial improvements for the entire school community by elevating sanitation standards, encouraging responsible hygiene behaviors, and promoting the overall well-being of the pupils.

This effort also serves to underscore the vital role that Rotary and similar community organizations play in collaborating with educational institutions to tackle local challenges and advance the welfare of children.

The commissioning of this WASH project represents a significant step towards promoting better sanitation and hygiene within schools, recognizing that a healthy learning environment is indispensable for the growth, development, and academic success of students.
