C-Care International has announced the successful acquisition of Roswell Hospital, a move that significantly bolsters its capacity in specialized maternal and child healthcare services. The 30-bed multi-specialty hospital, known for its focus on women’s health, fertility, and pediatric care, officially joined the C-Care network on September 8, 2026.
This acquisition marks a strategic expansion for C-Care, growing its network in Uganda to six hospitals and 17 clinics. It solidifies its position as a major player in the nation’s private healthcare landscape, particularly in niche areas where local specialized services have been historically limited.
Azhar Sundhoo, CEO of C-Care East Africa, expressed enthusiasm about integrating Roswell into the C-Care family, highlighting the strengthening of capabilities in women’s health and fertility. “This is an important step in our growth strategy and reinforces our commitment to expanding access to quality healthcare in Uganda,” Sundhoo stated.
The integration plan will focus on enhancing operations and service delivery, likely involving investments in technology and systems. This acquisition aligns with a broader trend of increasing private healthcare investment in Uganda, evidenced by significant growth in medical insurance premiums.
Roswell Hospital’s expertise in gynaecology and specialized maternal and pediatric care is expected to complement C-Care’s existing services, offering patients greater access to high-quality, specialized treatment within the country. C-Care aims to build upon Roswell’s established strengths, ensuring continuity of care while leveraging the resources of a larger network.
