Daudi Kayiira Gajuule, the head of the Mbogo clan, has officially appointed Edward Yawe Ssaava to lead the Kasolya lineage. Ssaava’s appointment is for a period of three years, succeeding Daudi Muduse Musiige, who has been relieved of his duties due to health challenges and advancing age.
The leadership announcement took place at the clan headquarters in Mugulu Village, Ssingo County. The meeting was attended by various clan leaders representing the Mituba, Enda, and Mpya groups, underscoring the significance of the transition.
Kayiira explained that Musiige’s long service to the lineage was commendable, but his declining health necessitated a change to ensure the continuity of leadership. The three-year term for Ssaava is intended to provide him with an opportunity to learn the role and prepare for future responsibilities within the lineage.
During the gathering, Kayiira emphasized the importance of strengthening clan administration and fostering cooperation among members. He urged leaders of the different clan groups to organize regular meetings to promote unity, improve communication, and encourage more active participation from younger generations in clan affairs.
Furthermore, the clan head encouraged members to resolve disputes internally through dialogue and existing clan structures, advocating for such resolutions before seeking external intervention from government courts. This approach aims to preserve relationships and maintain harmony within the clan.
Edward Ssaava expressed his gratitude to the clan head for the trust placed in him. He pledged to collaborate with other clan members and leaders to enhance the management of clan affairs, with a focus on strengthening relationships among descendants and ensuring the effective continuation of lineage activities. Elders present also called upon younger clan members to take a more active role in preserving traditions and preparing for future leadership roles within the Mbogo clan.
