Authorities in Kyegegwa District have made significant progress in the investigation into the tragic deaths of three family members, arresting two suspects in connection with the brutal murders. The victims, identified as Christine Kansiime (28), her infant daughter Miracle (1 year and 3 months), and their domestic worker Joan A (19), were found deceased at their home in Karokalungi, Kyamaga Parish, Nkanja Sub-county.

The breakthrough in the case came with the specialized assistance of a police sniffer dog. Officers utilized the dog’s keen sense of smell, introducing it to the scent of the crime scene. The dog successfully tracked a human scent, leading investigators through a trail that proved vital in the apprehension process.

The tracking exercise culminated in the recovery of clothing belonging to one of the deceased in a corridor in Bwiliza village. This crucial piece of evidence further guided the police towards the residence of a primary suspect and subsequently led to the arrest of a second individual.

Rwenzori West Police Spokesperson, SP Twesige Vicent, confirmed the arrests and described the murders as exceptionally violent. The two suspects are currently in custody at Kyegegwa Central Police Station, where further investigations are ongoing to piece together the full details of the tragic events.
