Michael Tumusiime’s dedication to refining his game during the week has paid dividends, evident in his consistent top performances. This past weekend, he further solidified his reputation by winning the Entebbe qualifier of the NCBA Bank Golf Series with an outstanding score of 75 gross.

Tumusiime expressed his delight at adding another title to his achievements, outpacing the field by a significant five shots. Entebbe Club captain Serwano Walusimbi finished as the runner-up. This victory secures Tumusiime an all-expenses-paid trip to the NCBA Series grand finale scheduled for November 27 at Karen Country Club in Nairobi, Kenya.

Reflecting on his win, Tumusiime attributed his success to “patience and staying positive.” He explained, “I just stayed patient and trusted that I could end up with a good score. I just stayed positive and didn’t let bad scores on certain holes get me down.”

Despite challenging course conditions, Tumusiime’s round included one birdie, twelve pars, and five bogeys. He will be joined at the Nairobi finale by Joseph Cwinyaai, who won the first leg of the series held at Uganda Golf Club. Both golfers will represent Uganda against a strong East African contingent.

NCBA Bank CEO Mark Muyobo highlighted the series’ role in fostering golf development, stating, “Through the NCBA Golf Series and Junior Golf Series, we are contributing to the growth of the sport by providing platforms for both established and emerging golfers to develop their skills, gain competitive experience and access opportunities beyond their local courses.” Beyond golf, NCBA Bank also engaged in a community initiative, donating water filters to vulnerable families in Kasenyi Landing Site.
