Sport-S Dominates National Volleyball Championship with Commanding Double Victory

Sport-S Volleyball Club has achieved a remarkable feat, claiming both the men’s and women’s titles at the 2026 National Club Championship. The prestigious three-day tournament, held across Uganda Christian University (UCU) in Mukono and the YES Center in Nsambya, saw Sport-S emerge victorious in both categories, marking a significant achievement for the club.

The men’s team delivered a dominant performance in their final, sweeping aside UCU Doves with a convincing 3-0 victory. Their path to the title included strong showings against Prisons in the quarter-finals and St. Charles Ntinda in the semi-finals.

In the women’s final, Sport-S faced a tougher challenge against KCB-Nkumba. After dropping the first set, the team rallied impressively, ultimately securing a 3-1 win. Led by Most Valuable Player Cecilia Ogal, Sport-S showcased resilience and strategic play to overcome their opponents and secure the championship.

This double triumph not only solidifies Sport-S’s position as a powerhouse in Ugandan volleyball but also earns them the honor of representing Uganda at the next CAVB Africa Club Championships. Meanwhile, St. Charles Ntinda celebrated their best-ever performance, securing the bronze medal in the men’s category after a hard-fought victory over Nemostars.

The successes of both Sport-S teams underscore their consistent performance and dedication throughout the season, setting a high standard for the upcoming continental competition.
