Peace Kabasweka Achieves Hat-Trick at Tooro Ladies Open

Peace Kabasweka has once again proven her prowess on the golf course, clinching the Tooro Ladies Open title for an impressive third year in a row. The win solidifies her status as a leading figure in Ugandan women’s golf.

Kabasweka’s performance saw her finish with an aggregate gross total of 219 over 54 holes. She navigated the course with rounds of 75, 68, and 76, incorporating several birdies throughout the competition. Despite a challenging final round hampered by heavy rain, Kabasweka managed to secure a commanding 17-stroke lead over her competitors.

The tournament, held at the scenic nine-hole course in Fort Portal, also championed the cause of “Go beyond for the girl child.” Kabasweka, who also served as part of the organizing committee, emphasized the importance of supporting young female golfers. This year’s event saw junior girls receiving golf equipment and educational support, underscoring a commitment to nurturing future talent.

Kabasweka attributed her success to strong relationships with service providers and a deep-seated motivation to play for her home region. The event was graced by the presence of Tooro’s Queen Rebecca Amoding Nyunyuzi Rukidi Abwooli, whose speech on women’s empowerment resonated with attendees. This victory adds to Kabasweka’s collection of multiple consecutive wins at other major opens, including the Namulonge, Mbale, and Entebbe Ladies Opens.

The event saw various other winners across different categories, including seniors, juniors, and men’s groups, showcasing a vibrant golf community in the region. Kabasweka’s achievement marks another milestone in her burgeoning golf career.
