Constantine Nsubuga, a testament to agricultural entrepreneurship, has dramatically expanded his oil palm farming venture from its humble beginnings. Starting with just 2.5 acres on Kalangala’s Ssese Islands, Nsubuga, now 73, commands a flourishing 45-acre plantation.
Originally a civil servant who diversified into coffee farming to supplement his income, Nsubuga’s journey into oil palm cultivation has yielded remarkable success. His fields, stretching across the landscape and swaying in the Lake Victoria breeze, are a symbol of his dedication and foresight.
Beyond the impressive acreage, Nsubuga’s agricultural success has enabled him to build a diversified portfolio. He is now a leading oil palm farmer in the district, with a significant livestock enterprise, a comfortable home, a vehicle, and notably, a school established to benefit children in his local community.
Nsubuga’s story highlights the potential for growth and community development through strategic investment in agriculture, demonstrating how a personal initiative can lead to widespread positive impact.
