The Comprehensive Rehabilitation Services in Uganda (CoRSU) recently hosted a successful run, effectively bringing the issue of disability inclusion to the forefront. The event served a dual purpose: acting as a crucial awareness campaign while simultaneously functioning as a vital fundraising drive.
Participants of all abilities joined the run, emphasizing the inclusive nature of the initiative. This gathering not only highlighted the importance of creating a society where everyone, regardless of their physical or mental condition, has equal opportunities but also underscored the challenges faced by many individuals with disabilities in accessing essential services and social integration.
The funds generated from the run are earmarked for supporting CoRSU’s ongoing programs. These programs are dedicated to providing comprehensive rehabilitation services, including medical care, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and psychosocial support, to children and adults with disabilities. By investing in these services, CoRSU strives to empower individuals, enabling them to lead more independent and fulfilling lives.
The success of the CoRSU run demonstrates the growing public interest in advocating for the rights and well-being of persons with disabilities. It serves as a powerful reminder that collective action and community support are instrumental in fostering a more inclusive and equitable society for all Ugandans.
