Isingiro District Leads as Best Performing Local Government in Service Delivery

Isingiro District has achieved the top spot in the 2025 Local Government Management of Service Delivery Performance Assessment, scoring an impressive 98.37 percent. This recognition highlights the district’s excellence in providing essential services to its residents.

The assessment, conducted by the Office of the Prime Minister (OPM), evaluated 176 local governments across key sectors including infrastructure, education, health, and micro-scale irrigation. The National Synthesis Report, released recently, detailed the performance of these entities.

Following closely behind Isingiro District were Kiruhura District, which secured the second position with 97.10 percent, and Nansana Municipal Council, ranking third with 94.50 percent. These districts have demonstrated significant commitment and effectiveness in their service delivery efforts.

The performance assessment is a crucial tool for understanding the strengths and weaknesses of local governments in Uganda. By measuring performance in critical areas, the OPM aims to encourage continuous improvement and ensure that public resources are utilized efficiently for the benefit of citizens.
