The National Resistance Movement (NRM) party has officially launched its strategic roadmap for fulfilling its 2026-2031 manifesto pledges. This comprehensive plan involves aligning the party’s campaign promises directly with the national budget, official planning tools, and the ongoing Fourth National Development Plan (NDP IV).
Minister for the Presidency, Kabuye Kyofatogabye, detailed that this integrated strategy is designed to ensure that the manifesto commitments are not merely aspirational but are systematically incorporated into the government’s operational framework. The NRM’s manifesto contains a total of 293 pledges spanning key sectors such as economic transformation, infrastructure development, education, healthcare, governance, and regional integration.
The NRM government is emphasizing a results-oriented approach, aiming to provide clear metrics for evaluating the successful implementation of these pledges. This strategic alignment is expected to enhance transparency and allow for more effective monitoring of progress as the party seeks to secure another term in the upcoming general elections.
This initiative follows a period where the NRM government has reported significant progress on its previous manifesto, with projections indicating an 87 percent implementation rate by the end of the current political term. The party’s focus for the upcoming term includes industrialization as a primary engine for economic growth, alongside continued emphasis on employment creation.
