Buganda Kingdom’s Speaker of Council, Hon. Mugumbule, has issued a strong call to action for leaders in Ssese County, urging them to move beyond passive observation and become active participants in development efforts. During a recent meeting aimed at guiding local leaders in implementing the Kingdom’s programs, Mugumbule emphasized the importance of proactive engagement in initiatives designed to uplift the lives of residents.

“People in all counties should not sit back or complain,” Mugumbule stated, stressing that the collective responsibility includes protecting and strengthening the institution of the Kabaka and promoting unity among all Baganda.

The Minister for Cabinet and the Office of the Katikkiro, Noah Kiyimba, echoed this sentiment, encouraging leaders to consistently generate and propose new ideas and initiatives that can propel Ssese forward. Kiyimba highlighted the need for continuous innovation to ensure the region’s progress.

Augustine Kasirye, the Kabaka’s representative in Ssese County, expressed gratitude for the Buganda Kingdom’s development programs, particularly mentioning the planned construction of a floating hospital. This initiative is expected to significantly improve healthcare access for communities across the islands. Kasirye also acknowledged the substantial contributions made by the people of Ssese to the Luwalo Lw’Obwakabaka initiative.

Agnes Lunkuse, the Kalangala District Chairperson, pledged her commitment to collaborating with Ssese leaders. Her focus will be on ensuring that essential services are delivered equitably to all residents within the district, fostering a sense of fairness and inclusivity.
