Sheikh Swidiq Ndawula has extended congratulations to students who have recently completed their Thanawi education from prominent Islamic institutions like Bilal Kakiri and Bilal Bwaise. During his regular religious discourse at Masjid Aldina Namayiba, Sheikh Swidiq stressed the critical need for these graduates to continue their academic journey.
He highlighted a prevailing shortage of qualified Islamic scholars, both male and female, who are essential for the propagation of Islam. To address this, he encouraged graduates to advance their studies to higher levels.
Sheikh Swidiq also advised against an over-reliance on scholarships from Saudi Arabia, suggesting that these are often uncertain. Instead, he recommended exploring enrollment in the Religious Studies department at the Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU). He noted that IUIU offers a more stable and reliable pathway for theological education.
Furthermore, Sheikh Swidiq directed a message to parents and guardians, urging them to actively support and encourage their children to continue their theological studies. He pointed out the increasingly competitive job market, where specialized religious education can provide a distinct advantage over graduates from other disciplines.
This encouragement aims to foster a new generation of well-educated Islamic leaders equipped to serve the community and preserve religious knowledge. The call to action underscores the ongoing importance of Islamic scholarship and education within Uganda.
