Mufti Emphasizes Brotherhood, Love, and Unity for Muslim Community

Sheikh Shaban Ramadhan Mubaje, the Mufti of Uganda, has issued a strong call for Muslims to reinforce the principles of brotherhood, love, and unity. These values, deeply rooted in the Holy Quran and the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), are presented as fundamental for fostering a cohesive society.

The message was conveyed by the Second Deputy Mufti, Sheikh Hafiz Muhammad Harunah Bukenya, during memorial prayers for the late Juma Ibrahim Takilambudde. Takilambudde, a former Assistant Superintendent of Police and son of a dedicated UMSC volunteer, was being honored at the ceremony in Kiwanga, Mukono Muslim District.

Sheikh Bukenya addressed the mourners, emphasizing that upholding unity, love, and mutual respect are essential elements for building stronger communities and driving progress. He specifically stated, “Let us keep the spirit of brotherhood, love and respect among our people. It will enable us to foster development.”

During the event, Sheikh Bukenya also acknowledged and thanked the family of the late Haj Ibrahim Talutambudde for their long-standing loyalty to the Uganda Muslim Supreme Council (UMSC) since its inception. He offered prayers for the repose of Takilambudde’s soul and recognized his dedicated service to Uganda within the Police Force.

The overarching theme of the Mufti’s message, delivered by Sheikh Bukenya, stressed that a continued commitment to brotherhood, love, and respect among Muslims will serve to promote peaceful coexistence, deepen community relationships, and ultimately contribute to societal development.
