Tooro Kingdom Finalizes Coronation Program for King Nyabongo I

The Tooro Kingdom has released the final itinerary for the upcoming coronation of Prince Edward Rukidi Nyabongo I, who will be enthroned as the new King. The celebrations are scheduled to culminate on Tuesday, September 29th.
Preparations will officially kick off on Monday night, September 28th. The king-designate is expected to depart from Rwengoma Palace and make a significant journey to Karuziika Palace. This trek is a symbolic act, signifying his acceptance and takeover of the ancestral royal throne.
Upon arrival at Karuziika Palace, King Nyabongo I will engage in a night-long series of traditional rites. These ceremonies are integral to the cultural and spiritual preparation for his reign.
The Abanyamirwa, the traditional ritual custodians of the Tooro Kingdom, are central figures in these preparations, overseeing the sacred ceremonies that will lead to the enthronement.
Prince Edward Rukidi Kijanangoma was officially selected as the Omukama-designate by the Babiito Royal Clan on September 9th at Karuziika Palace in Fort Portal City. The government has affirmed his new royal status and is in the process of issuing the official Gazette notice.
