Salam TV Gears Up for Omumanyi Eastern Finals with Venue Inspection in Mbale

Salam TV is making final preparations for the upcoming Eastern Region Finals of the 7th Edition of Omumanyi wa Salam TV. The event is set to take place on October 3, 2026, at the Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU) Main Campus in Mbale.
Managing Director Hajji Karim Kaliisa, who also heads Salam Charity, personally led the inspection team. The visit aimed to ensure all logistical and infrastructural arrangements are in place for the highly anticipated competition.
During his visit to Mbale, Kaliisa also made a significant stop at the Nakaloke Centre Mosque. Salam TV has been instrumental in supporting the construction of this mosque, a project that is nearing completion.
He was warmly welcomed by the mosque’s Imam, Sheikh Salman Faris, and members of the congregation. They provided a tour of the facility, showcasing the progress made.
Kaliisa expressed his gratitude to all contributors, highlighting that the mosque project is an estimated Shs5 billion undertaking. Approximately Shs2 billion is still needed to finalize the remaining construction phases.
He appealed for continued support from the public and well-wishers to ensure the mosque’s timely completion, emphasizing its role as a vital community hub. Once finished, the Nakaloke Centre Mosque is projected to be one of Uganda’s largest, incorporating shops, offices, training centers, and conference halls to serve both religious and broader community needs.
As a gesture of goodwill and to promote the Omumanyi competition, Kaliisa presented an Omumanyi wa Salam TV guidebook to the mosque’s chairperson and invited the congregation to attend the finals. He also encouraged them to identify participants from their community.
Imam Sheikh Salman Faris conveyed his thanks for the visit and for Salam Charity’s ongoing support, urging continued collaboration to bring the ambitious mosque project to its successful conclusion. The project is reportedly in its final stages of construction.
