KCW SACCO to Host Charity Run for Women-Led Households

The KCW SACCO Run 2026 is set to take place on Saturday, November 7th, at the Lugogo MTN Arena in Kampala. This event is part of the cooperative’s observance of World Savings Day.

The run, themed “AI Advises, Human Decides — Saving is Our Choice,” will feature both 5km and 10km routes. It aims to bring together SACCO members, corporate partners, and the general public to support vulnerable women-led households in the Katanga and Kawempe communities.

Scheduled from 6:45 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., the event will combine the timed race with engaging financial literacy talks and exhibitions. Participants will gain insights into saving strategies, budgeting, and the responsible use of new technologies like artificial intelligence in managing personal finances.

Registration for the run costs Shs45,000 and includes a branded vest and bag. Organizers anticipate around 400 participants for the event.

All proceeds generated from the run will be directed towards initiatives designed to bolster the savings capacity and economic resilience of women-led households in Katanga and Kawempe. These communities face notable economic challenges, making the support crucial.

Rebecca Irene Nassuuna, Chairperson of KCW SACCO, emphasized that the run is more than just a physical activity; it’s a tangible way to advance the cooperative’s mission of fostering financial security among women. “Every stride taken on 7th November will help move a woman-led household in Katanga or Kawempe closer to financial security,” she stated.

Nassuuna urged corporates, media, well-wishers, and the public to join the event and contribute to cultivating a stronger savings culture across Uganda.

The KCW SACCO Run 2026 is expected to serve as a vital platform for financial education and resource mobilization for women in need.
