Maro Announces "The Great Maro Concert" for December 4, 2026

After an earlier postponement, Ugandan musician Maro has confirmed that “The Great Maro Concert” will now take place on December 4, 2026. The venue for this much-anticipated event is the UMA Showgrounds in Lugogo, Kampala.

Maro shared the exciting news with his fans across his social media channels, expressing his eagerness for them to join him. He reflected on his personal and professional journey, highlighting his upbringing and the initial struggles musicians faced in gaining societal respect. Maro noted the effort it took to create lyrics that would resonate with and be accepted by parents.

“For the Love of Ugandan music. Those who would love to experience with me the prime of a once prodigal son, raised in Nsambya, shaped by a humble background and the fact that a musician was seen as less than nothing. We had to write lyrics mature enough to gain parental approval,” he stated in his announcement.

The singer also touched upon the adversities he has overcome throughout his career, including near-death experiences and the loss of friendships. These challenges, he shared, have reinforced the significance of his identity as an artist. “All of this reminded me of one great thing that has ever happened to me, which is being Maro!” he added.

Maro invites his supporters to the UMA Showgrounds on December 4 to celebrate their mutual passion for music together. The concert was originally planned for the previous year but faced delays, with financial constraints being a significant factor. Now, Maro is gearing up to connect with his audience and commemorate his musical path.
