Moroto Man Allegedly Kills Daughter Over Lack of Food, Injures Son

Police in Moroto District are searching for Daniel Logiro, 35, suspected of killing his young daughter and severely injuring his son following a confrontation with his wife about dinner.
The incident reportedly took place around midnight on Sunday in Kalopidinga Village, Iriiri Sub-county. Logiro allegedly became violent after his wife, Christine Mudong, 23, informed him that there was no food prepared for the children.
According to police spokesperson Inspector of Police Mike Longole, Logiro first assaulted his wife, who then fled to her mother’s home for safety. Upon her return Sunday morning with her mother, she discovered their two-year-old daughter, Anna Grace Adyaka, deceased and their five-year-old son, Israel Lokut, with serious injuries.
The matter was reported to local authorities and the Iriiri Police Station. Police have registered a murder case, processed the scene, and gathered witness statements. The injured boy is receiving treatment at Iriiri Health Centre III, and the deceased child’s body has been sent for postmortem examination.
Logiro is currently at large, and police are actively pursuing him. “We condemn acts of domestic violence and call upon the public to resolve misunderstandings amicably and report domestic violence early to police or local leaders,” stated Mr. Longole. This incident follows a similar case reported recently in the same district.
