High Court Upholds Pastor's Ownership of 168 Acres, Dismisses Madhvani's Claim

Muljibhai Madhvani & Company Ltd has failed in its bid to reclaim a significant portion of land in Wakiso District.

The High Court, in a ruling delivered on September 9, dismissed the company’s application to have a consent judgment reviewed.

This judgment, previously established, recognized Pastor Daniel Walugembe as the legal owner of approximately 168 acres of land located in Busiro.

Justice Ida Nakiganda, acting High Court Judge, cited a critical procedural flaw in Madhvani’s application.

According to the ruling, the company neglected to attach the very consent judgment they sought to challenge.

The court emphasized that this missing document was essential for demonstrating that Madhvani & Company Ltd was an aggrieved party with the legal standing to bring forth the case for review.

Without this foundational evidence, the court found no basis to proceed with Madhvani’s request, effectively upholding Pastor Walugembe’s ownership of the disputed land.

This decision brings a conclusion to the land dispute that has been ongoing.
